The 62nd edition of the game will once again put the world’s best basketball players on display in one of the most spectacular, high-scoring and utterly exhilarating sporting events of the year. And don’t forget that in the NBA it’s not just about the All-Star Game – which will take place in Houston on Feb. 17 – but it’s about the entire weekend. The game will feature the league’s top rookie players and its top sophomores in a rivalry game like no other in sports. The game is a glimpse into the future of the league, as its youngest stars do battle on the hardwood. Last year’s Rookie of the Year award winner, Kyrie Irving, dazzled the crowd with a 34-point barrage while leading his team to victory and the good news is he’ll be back this year as a sophomore. New Orleans’ Anthony Davis, Portland’s Damian Lillard and Minnesota’s Ricky Rubio are just a few of the ballers who will join him playing for teams coached by Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkely.

Then it’s time for the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, which will test the passing and ball-handling abilities of the league’s top guards. The night will then conclude will its two most famous and popular events, the Foot Locker Three-Point Contest and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. The team that tallies the most overall points wins the night and wins some cash for charity.
