The $164 million renovation that will transform 80-year-old Amon J. Stadium is getting its finishing touches and Fandeavor got an inside look! The project, which was fully funded by 34 donors, is set to be finished by the Horned Frogs home opener against Grambling St. on September 8th. Fans can get an incredible all-access tour of the sparkling new stadium with any of Fandeavor’s TCU experiences, which can be found here.
The west side of the stadium has been transformed into three tiers of seating. The second tier and upper deck includes 24 suites that are designated for donors, plus 2,500 club seats which are part of the 20,000-square foot club level. (Below is a view from the club seats and a look inside the club level lounge.)
Seating capacity will go from 44,000 down to 40,000, but the stadium will be expandable to accomodate more than 50,000 fans.
The outside of the stadium has also been renovated and is designed to blend in with the Southwest art deco style that can be seen throughout the TCU campus.
Here’s an inside look at the massive entrance to one of the six $15 million founders’ suites that serves as one of swankiest suite entrances you’ll ever see in a football stadium.
